M0HPI - Legal - 13cm

The UK 13cm amateur band is divided into three sections with different legal requirements:
2300MHz - 2302MHz
At the time the 2350MHz - 2390MHz section was released for commercial use, the RSGB negotiated the use of the 2300MHz - 2302MHz section.
- Secondary user.
- Full licencees.
- 400W max.
- NoV is required. The NoV is valid for three years. It can be applied for via the RSGB website here. It is available for immediate download.
- Have to specify all usage locations in addition to the main station address.
2310MHz - 2350MHz
- See OFCOM document pages 35 and 36 sections 5.31 to 5.34 for more info.
- No NoV required for this section.
- OFCOM requests that amateurs using this section inform them (see doc reference above).
- Amateurs to accept interference from ISM users.
2350MHz - 2390MHz
OFCOM announced in April 2014 (cosultation summer 2013) that this section of the band was released to the commercial sector. It was removed from the 2015 amateur licence. More details here including the OFCOM consultation, statement and the RSGB response.
Specific conditions apply within 50km of Bude or Harrowgate.
2390MHz - 2450MHz
- Secondary user
- Must accept interference from ISM users.
- Specific conditions apply within 50km of Bude or Harrowgate.
